The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to significantly impact our processes, by creating software solutions tailored to our complex laboratory control challenges and data pipeline requirements. 

Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is a newly founded company, owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), aimed at developing next generation Quantum Computing Processor technologies.  

About us

Our company is part of a vibrant and growing Danish quantum ecosystem, and we collaborate closely with world-leading researchers in the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) based at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen. The NQCP programme is designed to facilitate and drive research and innovations at multiple levels – from developing quantum processor technologies to solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface, and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications. 

JOIN OUR TEAM

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about enabling software infrastructure for hardware innovations. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to significantly impact our processes, by creating software control solutions tailored to our complex hardware challenges and data pipeline requirements. 

Your key responsibilities will be:   

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software infrastructure and solutions to facilitate hardware control integrations, validation, and automation processes.  
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to guarantee the functionality, performance, and reliability of software solutions.  
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and implement new software features that align with requirements.  
  • Write clear, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and industry standards. 

 

Professional and Personal Qualifications

We imagine that you have:  

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with software focus) or Experimental physics (with software focus), or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Git, Bash, and SQL, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality code. 
  • Experience in laboratory control systems development coupled with a solid understanding of data structures and software design principles. 
  • Experience with PLC (programmable logic control) is a significant plus. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and cloud computing services, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing scalable solutions is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with control systems of scientific instrumentation is a plus.
